How to install and setup Project 64 (A Nintendo 64 Emulator)

This quick guide will show you what an emulator is an how to install one, specifically Project 64, a Nintendo 64 emulator. Emulators do what their names suggests, they emulate.
What do they emulate?
They emulate games, converting your pc or mac into a gaming console. It uses the drive on your computer to power it and allows smooth playback, if you have a decent computer of course. The following are steps on how to install the emulator and start playing your favorite Nintendo 64 games.

Start:
  1. First, go to this link: http://www.coolrom.com/emulators/n64/21/Project64.php, wait for the link button to appear, then press it. The download should automatically start, if not, it will tell you to click on something else on the screen. Download it and go to the next step.
  2. Once you have downloaded the program, install it (or save it on your desktop). Make sure to make a shortcut on the desktop to make this process a lot easier.
  3. Once you have installed everything, create a folder on your desktop and name it whatever you want, this is where you will put your games!
  4. Open your Project 64 1.6, go to your "Options" setting on top, click on it, click on "Configure Graphics Plugin" for your "Windowed Resolution" I recommend 640x480 and on your "Fullscreen Resolution" I recommend 800x600, you can go lower to speed up your game and make it flawless with the exception of having lamer graphics. You can go higher to make your games High Definition, but it may run slow depending on your computer speed. Okay, save your settings.
  5. Go to http://coolrom.com/ and on the site on the headers, look for "ROM Files" and scroll over it. A list should appear, click on Nintendo 64, it should take you to another page, scroll down and download a game! Put it in the folder you created. Open Project 64, click on File on top, click on open rom, choose your game, and enjoy!
